About
Hi! I'm Sarah Wallace, a Brisbane-based macrame maker. I am a wife, as well as a mother to four wild Wallaces.
I have always had an innate need to create. From a young age I learnt to sew and, for a period of time, dabbled in creating beaded jewellery. My children know that when the contents of their costume box fail to provide they can always rely on me (and my husband - yup, he's pretty handy too) to provide handmade costumes that are required for their respective social events (which may or may not be more frequent than my own!?).
I stumbled upon the age-old art of macrame in a bid to find something to fill a blank wall in my home until I could afford *that* financially elusive painting which I loved! The painting still eludes me, but a new love has been born. The craft of Macrame has the potential to both calm and challenge. Whilst continual movement of rope through the fingers allows the calming of a busy mind (knotting is the perfect activity for practicing mindfulness), it is also capable of pushing the mind to creative heights in order to bring to life new designs.
